Hotwheel Nissan Skyline GTR

Hotwheel Nissan Skyline GTR, originally uploaded by lt_zanders.

So, I went to go buy a vacuum cleaner today. On another note my room is nice and dust free, feels goood. Anyways, so I went down to go get one however I did end up in the toy section before I got to where they have the vacuums. (Pure Coincidence) So, of course I looked around and what did I find, a Nissan Skyline GTR hotwheel, kitted and looking mighty pretty. So, I had to have it along with a Nissan 240Z, and my rather powerful new small dirt devil that tried to destroy one of the rugs in the apartment after it got a hold of a loose thread. Bad Devil, Bad. So, yes now back to homework, argh.

The Ticker Holds The Middle Ground & Passes Through Some Purple Haze

Well this one is going to be short cause I'm bloody tired. So, that group presentation happened. It was a success which was cool and people thought it was a good presentation. However, the Q & A is where it got really interesting. All of that mal content and all those issues that our group went through all came pouring out on stage, Jerry Springer style. Basically the group member who attempted to assume control at the very beginning before we even met each other tried to get sympathy for his cause and his own issues with how the group operated. That did not happen, instead he got a barrage of questions and responses counter to his issues. It was funny it was like a melt down, I was still attempting to hold the middle but yeah, funny stuff. We are definitely the most dysfunctional group thus far. The teacher for this class who is also the chair of our department did say specifically to me that she loved the ticker and once again complimented my sunburst Asics, she likes the bright shoes. Other than that we finally got the code working for my other group project I'm on, thankfully gosh. I created some purple-haze-o-vision, processing a live video stream with C, that was a funny moment because of course I had to toss on good ole Jimi for the occasion. "Purple haze, all in my brain. Lately things just don't seem the same. Actin' funny but I don't know why. Scuse me while I kiss the sky." With that I will kiss the sky and go to sleep.

Return of the Ticker

Yes it's back, you heard me right. Ticker is King! Well that group that hit a complete impasse well we ended up changing the idea. Therefore we had new means of communication of information and news material. When this even came to pass I was like I'd like to be ticker. They were like ticker? I'm like ticker tape you know crawl? They're like oh. So, then I became ticker. However, of course with much ticker comes much responsibility or power or somethin' like that. Anyhow, I actually overran the amount of text After Effects 6.5 can handle. I was like what? How can this be, it can't handle anymore text? So I had to break it up. Oh I forgot to mention the duration, yeah it's like 12 minutes long so yeah. Tomorrow or rather later on today in about 13 hours I present, whoop dee freakin doo. The million dollar question will be so how did your group get along and I will laugh and say we didn't but we survived or something to that effect. Of course after this project ends I have another project due Thursday and I need to work on a current project a lot tomorrow, so AGH! Enough about me though, my good friend Matt, he made it out to Formula D this weekend out in Irwindale. For those who don't know what that is, it's drift racing, basically getting the car sideways at high speeds and in tandem. Crazy fun stuff, look it up if you don't know what I'm talking 'bout. Anyways, hey ended up taking a picture and I just had to post it cause it's pretty funny. Maybe I'll post his video later. Anyways, I need to check the G5 and it's progress so laters.

"When you cut off the head, two will rise in it's place."

Well that has indeed occoured. One group ends and two begin. A prototype for one class with that group is due this week. I have a presentation on tuesday for the other in response to our rather good/interesting speaker Ethan Zuckerman. The latter group has had group politik from the get go and the climate has cooled after I did damage control and spin. I have become that aisle that people supposedly reach across, haha. Anyways, things have thawed a bit and have begun to move forward but a deadlock was hit. So we shall see where things go from there. In other news, as you may have heard a plane ran crashed into a building out here in Manhatten. When I found out it was via text message simply saying a plane ran into a building in NY. My first response was agh, not again. I was at school at this time I quickly got onto the internet scouring for news of it and details. The BBC oddly was the first with a story up, then NY Times then CNN. Until finding out it was a owned by a Yankee pitcher I was a bit tense I must admit, even thought it was a small plane. It's just one of those things. It's sad that my first human response about that news was like oh whew it wasn't terrorism and just a regular plane crash. On another note I finally got you some pics from that last project up. Basically it's an interactive store display with things that pop out and move at specific distances. In this mockup we have a halloween themed store front. It ended up working quite well and looking quite nice, especially with the background done in Flash. The weather it is a changing. It was pouring two days ago and today was coldish. I'm glad I recieved my heavier jackets from home (Danke Mom). Anyways, I think that's about it for now. Time to do some more homework and research.

Well this was from yesterday night at the quote unquote Best Thursday Night Out of the Semester unquote. It was rather eh. However, this odd picture came from it. I have no clue I could smile like that, maybe it's the angle. Totally weirded me out to see that. I look like I should throw my head back and begin laughly then stop then do it again and say something like, "Yes, Haha, yes indeed, hmm, Haha, yes." Also my teeth look oddly sharp well least to me, not sure what you all think. An oddity for surity

Do you remember Tripod?

The speaker today for class was really quite good and engaging. Ethan Zuckerman. He was one of the founders of Tripod, you remember the sites with all the pop up ads and banner ads. I'll talk more about it later, oh and he apologized for all the pop ups and for possibly inventing them, I say that because I'm not entirely sure if he did invent them, he said he did. I am skeptical as you can see. However fun stuff now. Kind of funny and random but worth the watch. Reminds me of Monty Python in ways but with nothing but album covers. Motiongrapher

Oh yeah, and one more thing

One thing I completely forgot to mention from Friday's ride back from MOMA. I was on the L train riding back and this guy started trying to sell me drugs. He was strung out to all hell. He even dropped the price to try and negotiate a deal, it was pretty funny and sad all at the same time. Today was rather nice, I got to go run which was awesome. The weather was great, I felt good, my form was there and so was my turn over. It was short but it was nice. Finished editing and made a DVD for someone special (looking at you Meow). Well, I'm off to bed. Up to bloody late as you can tell. But before I go a lil odd self portrait.

Alls Well That Ends Well...

Well that group project I was working on is now over. In the end it came out quite well, overwhelmingly good feedback as well as personal feedback from our teacher. Of course it was a lot of work and pushed me at times but it is over and it is well. However the beginning of a new group project is looming. Come this Tuesday I start another one with different group members. The Politiks have already started though and there is a North and South and we stand divided. Hopefully that can change, but I know it's gonna be ugly. I have begun to move myself to the center and have initiated damage/spin control, oi! We're bloody adults aren't we? That aside went to MOMA yesterday night and saw a cool piece I'd never seen before, The Simpson Verdict. I forget who was the artist I'll have to look it up. I originally was going to go see "AKA Nikki S. Lee" but it was sold out. Saw "The Siege" Last night when I came home. I'd never seen it before and kind of wanted to see it when it came out but never got to. So, I finally got around to it and it's really odd seeing it post 9/11 and current Iraq War along with the current climate in politics, foreign policy and this nation. Went out to Queens today on a class field trip. The NY Hall of Science was were we went. Man that was a long train ride but I thought it was going to take longer but got there earlyish. So, I wandered around Flushing Meadow Park and the World's Fair Fairgrounds. The trip was really cool, our teacher Danny Razin, really bloody good. Couldn't take the same train back (7) though cause apparently a building collapsed don't know what was the cause though. Anyways, that's what I'm up to, playing the spin doctor and wandering about.

Monopolization and Gel Ignite

Well, I'm bloody tired. I'm still working on that group project. It's a life sucker and time waster. Meetings go on forever and it's tiring. The first few days not much got done and tons of hours were spent. The past two days have been much better and things are coming together which is good/exciting. I have another group project ramping up soon, midterms as well, argh. My programming class is barely starting to move slower that molasses, still a bit bored. Other stuffs, hmm besides school, hmm. Well how about news like Mr. Mark Foley, congressman of Florida. Yeah he's properly f*cked, oh yeah, the irony of it all. Oh I know my bloody phone, being a pain, I think it's going to need to get replaced argh. Been listening to some more Irish music, good ole I.R.A.. Well with that I shall now go to bed but 'fore I go here be a rather lovely quotation from an equally lovely song done by Spirit of Freedom. "Farewell to your bricks and mortar. Farewell to your dirty lies. Farewell to your gang ways and your gang planks. And to hell with your overtime." -"Botany Bay"
